Louisville, KY (January 27, 2025) – The KFC Yum! Center is proud to announce an exciting new milestone in its long-term partnership with Louisville Water, further solidifying both organizations shared commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Since the venue's opening in 2010, the KFC Yum! Center and Louisville Water have worked together to ensure guests have access to high-quality, safe drinking water throughout the arena. As part of an ongoing dedication to environmental stewardship, the KFC Yum! Center has added six water refill stations with a message about the quality of Louisville’s drinking water.

Located on both the upper and main concourses, the six refill stations—three on each level—offer a convenient, eco-friendly way for guests to refill their reusable water bottles, reducing single-use plastic waste. This initiative aligns with the KFC Yum! Center’s broader sustainability goals within ASM Global Acts and their commitment to promoting a greener, healthier environment for all who visit.

“We are thrilled to continue our strong partnership with Louisville Water Company,” said Eric Granger, General Manager of the KFC Yum! Center. “These new refill stations represent a crucial step forward in our efforts to provide more sustainable options for our fans, while also improving their overall event experience. This puts us closer to an important goal within ASM Global Acts to reduce single use plastic consumption at our venues. This is just one example of how we can work together to create a more environmentally friendly venue for our community.”

This initiative also allows guests to bring an empty, clear, reusable bottle into the facility to fill at one of the six stations. “The KFC Yum! Center was one of the first places where Louisville Water partnered to make it easier to enjoy drinking water at an event,” said Kelley Dearing Smith, Louisville Water Communications & Marketing Vice President. “Today, there are more than 120 branded bottle filling stations at a dozen popular places in the city. Louisvillians love Louisville Pure Tap® and this initiative reduces plastic waste and focuses on the value of tap water.”

This latest sustainability initiative aligns perfectly with the broader efforts spearheaded by ASM Global, the venue’s management company, to reduce environmental impact across its network of venues. Fans are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to the arena and take advantage of these new refill stations to stay hydrated while reducing their carbon footprint.

In addition to the new water refill stations, the KFC Yum! Center is taking several other strides toward sustainability. Recently, the venue’s food and beverage partner, Sodexo Live!, has implemented a partnership with Leanpath, a leader in food waste prevention. Using cutting-edge artificial intelligence, Leanpath helped the venue reduce food waste by 50% in 2024, enhancing both kitchen efficiency and sustainability. The KFC Yum! Center is also reinstalling Pathosans cleaning systems, which reduce chemical waste while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the venue.

“We are incredibly proud of the progress we’re making with our sustainability initiatives and the positive impact they are having on our operations and the community,” said Granger. “With the ongoing support of our partners like Louisville Water Company, we are confident in our ability to continue driving sustainable practices at the KFC Yum! Center for years to come.”
