KFC YUM! CENTER OPENS ENTRIES FOR NBA NATIONAL ANTHEM CONTEST
Louisville, KY (Sept. 7, 2016) – For the third consecutive year, the KFC Yum! Center is offering a Kentuckiana resident the opportunity to sing the Star-Spangled Banner at the arena’s NBA preseason game, featuring the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Miami HEAT. The competition finals will be held on the arena’s Norton Healthcare Plaza on Wednesday, Sept. 21 and the winning Kentuckiana resident will perform at the October 15 game.
The contest is free to enter and open to individuals and vocal groups age 12 and older. New this year, the audience at the competition finals will select the winner. Competitions in previous years have been judged by well-known Louisvillians but this year, the KFC Yum! Center wants to empower the community to choose the winning vocalist.
Individuals interested in competing must submit a 60-second video of themselves singing the Star-Spangled Banner and an entry form via email to dsoutherling@kfcyumcenter.com by Friday, Sept. 16 at 5PM. Hard copy entry forms and DVDs will also be accepted at the KFC Yum! Center.
