AEG Facilities’ KFC Yum! Center Rises to 8th in the Nation, 22nd in the World for Ticket Sales
Louisville, KY (April 12, 2016) – Well-respected concert and venues industry publication Pollstar Magazine released its Q1 2016 Top 200 rankings this week and AEG Facilities’ KFC Yum! Center is ranked 8th in the nation and 22nd in the world for ticket sales by venue, having sold over 100,000 tickets* this quarter. AEG Facilities, the KFC Yum! Center’s management group, owns, operates or is affiliated with 22 of the top 100 arenas worldwide, including the No. 1 ranked The O2 in London. Thirty-five percent of all ticket sales from the top 20 arenas were from AEG Facilities-affiliated venues.
The report does not include University of Louisville sporting events or the NCAA Division I Men’s Regional Tournament games hosted at the venue during the first quarter. However, the KFC Yum! Center started off 2016 with a strong showing at a number of events, including Madonna, Blake Shelton and Bruce Springsteen.
Dennis Petrullo, General Manager of the KFC Yum! Center, said he is continuously amazed by the support that fans in Louisville and surrounding areas show for the world-class acts that AEG Facilities brings to the city. “The first quarter of 2016 brought several huge events to the KFC Yum! Center, including the busiest week in the arena’s history when the venue hosted six events in seven days, including megastars Blake Shelton and Bruce Springsteen. Top-notch talent continues to make the KFC Yum! Center a stop on their tours because not only do fans in Louisville continue to pack the house, but fans from surrounding cities like Lexington, Cincinnati and Indianapolis regularly travel to Louisville for our shows.”
The KFC Yum! Center is excited for a strong slate of amazing shows in 2016, including this past weekend’s four Garth Brooks shows, Justin Bieber next week, an exciting new Cirque du Soleil show and Coldplay among many others that are yet to be announced.
